A place to call home: Las Manos, Panajachel

We were able to get settled into our home just in time for Thanksgiving which gave us a very BIG thing to be thankful for this year - a place to call home here in Guatemala!

Las Manos is located about a 20+ minute walk from the center of Panajachel and has about 15 families living in the compound. Years ago, it operated as an import/export center which provided onsite housing and school for the employees and their families.  Now, it is mostly apartments; but, it also has an Italian bakery onsite as well - baking fresh  bread daily for businesses in Pana.  YUM.

Living room / bedroom -- with kitchen to the left after the sofa and bathroom in the back left corner.

We're LOVING this pretty kitchen!

The color scheme in this bathroom is interesting ... I don't think I've ever had this many clashing colors in a room together!  We have an electric showerhead which is essentially a tiny on-demand water heater for the shower. What it means is that usually if you run the water at low enough pressure, it heats up nicely as it runs through the showerhead. Of course, this isn't always the case :)

Up the stairs is Luke's sleeping nook and our walk-in closet :)

Such a pretty setting!

Very colorful place, especially the bathroom! :) The sunsets are beautiful, too! So glad you have a found a place to call home.
