A Park Day

We had our first school break last week which was wonderful ... as much as we are enjoying our kids, it was great to send them away for seven days and it gave us the chance to really explore our city without timeframes for when we had to be finished by. Our first outing was to Century Park in Pudong which is the biggest park in Shanghai and takes 1 - 1 1/2 hours to get to using public transportation. We'd tried earlier to get here, but ran out of time. So, we really enjoyed getting to explore the park (with thousands of other Chinese tourists).

Proof that there is nature in Shanghai!

And...we are never far from a KFC!

I don't think this little girl realizes that she's supposed to be having fun?

We saw many, many kites throughout the day ... this was one of my favorites as we left.

Happy 60th Birthday to Communist China

These guys had the most awesome kabob stands I've seen yet - with the cooking trough attached to their bicycles!

Gorgeous skyline as we exited.
