Into a whole new kind of housing

Since Jason & I have been married we've lived in:

- a Harlem brownstone
- a Palau tent cabin
- a Shanghai villa
- a Vermont barn
- a Guatemala studio
- an Idaho carriage house

And now .....

... a FEMA trailer!!

Woo-hoo!!

Jason got a Forestry Internship at Priest Lake, Idaho (one of his top-top places in the world to camp) and they provide us with a FEMA trailer leftover from hurricane Katrina to live {rent free!} We are stoked! Not only has God blessed Jason with an opportunity to get some valuable experience in his future career field, but we get to live in a gorgeous location and not have to worry about coming up with rent. We feel incredibly blessed.

Plus, there's the added bonus of adding to our list of interesting housing to have lived in. Obviously, there may be some drawbacks to the arrangement, but we are truly thrilled at God's incredibly provision for us.

We get to live walking distance from the edge of this!!

Eight is great!

Jason and I celebrated our 8 year wedding anniversary on Tuesday. The passing of time is such a weird thing ... hard to believe it's really been that long, but also feels like not so long. We'd made a very fast trip to Seattle to pick up essential baby items that our Peace Corps friend Jamie had received extras of for her recent addition and also to visit some other friends, so hadn't really done any planning for something special. But as we were driving back we realized we'd be going right past the turn off for Palouse Falls. A place neither of us had ever been before. A perfect way to celebrate -- exploring somewhere new together :)

About 15 miles off the highway (out in the literal middle of NO WHERE, in an incredibly desolate setting) lies this super cool waterfall.

Looking very pregnant!

A final celebration treat -- milkshakes from Zips {and we each got our own flavor instead of sharing one ... it was an exciting day :) )

Sunsets & more sunsets ...

Since we moved into our little garage/cabin here I've been frustrated that our camera was not able to capture the gorgeous sunsets we see. For months, Jason encouraged me to find a camera that would work and last month (with the sun finally far enough north to see again) I finally did it!

The new camera comes with a lot more bells & whistles than I'm used to so it will take me some time to really use it properly ... but in the meantime I've been loving having something that picks up the glorious end that God gives us to each day.

Coming this Fall ...

... someone who will be needing this!

Yes! Jason & I have been blessed with a second pregnancy! We've been told by the ultrasound technician that all looks healthy and we should expect a girl to arrive mid-September. We're terrified and excited; interested to see what God has for us in this next phase of our adventure together.

Happy Mother's Day

The lilacs here (and so so many other flowers) are in wonderful, FULL bloom and although these don't last long as cut flowers, I can't resist bringing them inside and enjoying their lovely beauty and scent.

Jason (& Luke) got me an awesome (albeit non-traditional) gift today ... a bicycle!! I'm super excited as I haven't had a bike since we moved back from China and miss it a ton. We're hoping to move into town before the beginning of the next school year which among other things will give us access to miles and miles of bike trails. Woo-hoo!

We had a fun surprise a few days ago -- I glanced out the kitchen window to see this guy coming out of the bushes. I ran to get Luke and Jason, then my camera ...

... when he headed out of window-view range, I couldn't resist running outside to catch a few more shots (keeping the jeep between us). Why do bears look sooo cuddly??
